Mission Statement:

The Elk Grove Middle School athletic program provides equal access for all students. It guarantees opportunities for maximum participation, through competition in athletic programs which promote school spirit, self esteem, sportsmanship, team work and positive social skills.

The district sports program includes:

1. 7th and 8th grade co-ed and same gender intramural sports teams.
2. Competitive interscholastic co-ed and same gender sports teams.

Sports Offered:

Girls Volleyball 7th & 8th Grade Combine Competitive Team 
Basketball 7th & 8th Grade Girls Competitive Team 
Basketball 7th & 8th Grade Boys Competitive Team 
Wrestling 7th & 8th Grade Girls/Boys Combine Intramural Team 
Track and Field 7th & 8th Grade Girls/Boys Combine Intramural Team

* Intramurals-There will be a no cut policy

* Competitive-There will be a limited amount of players per team

Intramural Guidelines:

1. Practice will be held three days a week.
2. Practice will last 1-1 1/2 hours

Competitive Guidelines

1. A student-athlete may compete at only one grade level, 7th or 8th, during basketball season.

2. Student-athletes are eligible to compete in only two years of competitive athletics, commencing with initial enrollment in the 7th grades.

3. In the sport of wrestling, only, elementary schools may practice and participate in tournaments with middle school wrestlers. In Elk Grove Unified School District (EGUSD) dual meets, elementary school students may only wrestle against other elementary school wrestlers. They cannot wrestle against middle school wrestlers.
