Title I
T. R. Smedberg is a Title I (Roman Numeral “one”) School. Title I is a federal funding program provided to schools to increase the academic achievement of students, and prepare them for college and career.
In the Elk Grove Unified School District, only schools with greater than 55% of students receiving Free and Reduced Lunch are eligible to receive Title I funds. T.R. Smedberg’s School Site Council makes the decision as to how the school will spend Title I money.
It is important that families are aware of Title I services and have a chance to be involved in deciding the ways the school can better serve our students. We have attached some important documents for our Smedberg Families.
